What is BUDA? Coming January 2007: BUDA Ultimate Coaches & Players Conference

BUDA Winter Donation Campaign // Paypal/Credit Card or Check

Boston Ultimate Disc Alliance (BUDA) is initiating a special campaign this year to solicit tax-deductible donations to help bring the sport of Ultimate Frisbee to youth in New England. We want to raise $5000, which will enable us to give 10 grants of $500 each to worthy coaches of school teams in New England.

Your donation of any amount would be greatly appreciated. If you give to other charities at this time of year, we ask that you consider how positively the sport of Ultimate can impact a young man or woman who is just learning the sport. From the group of volunteers who help run BUDA’s leagues and events, we already have four (4) Matching Grants, which means that as long as other donations cumulatively exceed $500, each of these donors will add another $500 towards our goal. If you’d like to make one of these Matching Grants, please use the number below to contact BUDA directly, or use Paypal/Credit Card or Check.

Our Youth Program reaches kids through clinics, and through coaches who volunteer their time for after-school practices, matches, and weekend tournament play. Rather than raise fees in our leagues to support these youth efforts, we would like to use donations to provide the extra money that this program needs. We have two primary efforts:

Coaches: Over 30 volunteer coaches are currently helping kids learn the sport the right way. As of this writing, only a few of these coaches are compensated. We’d like to step up with $500 grants for as many of these coaches as we can, to let them know that the Ultimate community believes in their work.

Clinics: Our Youth Program clinics have reached over 2,000 children in middle and high schools across Eastern Massachusetts in our first few years. In this fund drive, we’d like to defray the cost of discs/cones/rules, as well as the part-time Youth Educator. We realize that this program will need more substantial funding over time to hire a full-time Youth Educator, and we are seeking long-term financial assistance in this area. If you, or your company, have the means to help, please contact us directly at the number below.

100% of your donation goes directly to support our programs; there is no administrative overhead. You can earmark your donation to either of the programs described above, or let BUDA decide. Thank you for your time, consideration, and support, and we hope you can help us with this very important campaign.
Sincerely,

Raphael Savir, Director of Youth Programs
