Directions to fields: Tufts field (not Tufts U.), Medford Located on Morton St. off of Main St. in MedfordDriving Directions: From Davis Square: Leave Davis Sq., on College Ave. Come to the Powder House Rotary. Exit the rotary at the second street, Warner St. (the first street will be Broadway). Warner St. will shortly change names to Harvard St. Go through a traffic light (at Boston Ave.), under a railroad overpass, and come to a second traffic light at Main St. Turn right on Main St. Pass two side streets on the right. You may notice Tufts Pool on the right, and the road beginning to fork. Stay to the right, and turn down the next street, Morton St. Tufts Park is on your right. Park on the right hand side of the street, or in a parking lot on the right at the far end of the park. From I-93: Take exit 32, (Route 60, Medford Square.). Head Westbound, heading into Medford Sq. Go straight through the first traffic light. Get in left hand lane. At the next traffic light (in the center of Medford Sq.), the left two lane bear to the left. Follow these two lanes. Go under the overpass (you are going under Route 16). Switch to the right hand lane, and stay to the right at the fork in the road. You will now be on Main St. in Medford. (You will see a Store 24 on your right, and a Mobil gas station on your left just after the fork). Stay on Main St. through two flashing yellow lights, and then through a full traffic light at Harvard St. Continue on Main St. Pass two side streets on the right. You may notice Tufts Pool on the right, and the road beginning to fork. Stay to the right, and turn down the next street, Morton St. Tufts Park is on your right. Red Line to Davis Sq., and a 15 minute walk. Walk down College Ave., to Powder House Rotary. Go around the rotary, past Broadway, to Warner St. Warner will become Harvard St. Pass a traffic light at Boston Ave., continue under railroad overpass. Turn right on Winchester St. after railroad overpass. Pass two side streets on your left, and before you get to the third side street, you will see the small, narrow entrance to Tufts Park on your left. Once inside the park, it will widen into the unlit section, but you will see the even wider lit section beyond. (Direction details) Daisy Field, Jamaica Plain  Daisy is a two-baseball, one soccer lighted field in Olmstead Park in Jamaica Plain. By car: Take Jamaicaway south over Rt. 9 and past small (Leverett) pond. At next light, make a right onto Willow Pond Rd. and park in small parking lot or along road. Coming north along Jway, look for Bynner St. on right (next intersection after Perkins St.), and make left on to Willow Pond Rd. at light. MBTA Directions: 1) (15 min. walk) Take E Green Line to last stop, Heath St. From stop continue south along S. Huntingdon St. 0.3 miles to Bynner St. Make a right on Bynner St. and continue 0.1 miles. Olmstedt Park/Daisy field is at intersection of Jamaicaway with Willow Pond Rd. 2) (5 min. walk) Take #39 bus (bus route map) out of Copley Sq. towards Forest Hills. #39 stops at corner of S. Huntington and Bynner St. Follow Bynner St. 0.1 miles west to Jamaicaway; Olmstedt Park/Daisy field is at intersection with Willow Pond Rd. (Direction details) Ryan Playground, Charlestown On the shores of the Mystic River, just off Rte 99. Once in the Sullivan Square rotary you can see the field lights just west of the Schrafft Bldg. 93 S. exit 28 to Sullivan Sq.; proceed straight into Sullivan Sq. rotary. 3/4way through at 3rd light in rotary, bear right. 50 ft. past light make hard right into parking lot. 93 N. exit 28, right at bottom of ramp, straight into Sullivan Sq. rotary, 50 ft. after 2nd light make hard right into pkg. lot. Cambridge: Memorial Drive (bear right at last exit) to Ed. Land Blvd. Straight over O'Brien Hwy. Onto Rte. 99, over Gilmore Bridge, make left onto 99 N., stay right. Enter Sullivan Sq. rotary; 50 ft. after 2nd light make hard right into pkg. lot. Rte. 16: turn onto 99 S. in Everett?, over Mystic River, 7/8 through Sullivan Sq. rotary (just past last light) make hard right into parking lot. MBTA: Orange line to Sullivan Sq. T stop. Exit to Sullivan Square, look up, and walk ½ through rotary towards Schrafft Bldg. Fields to left of Schrafft, on right of Rte. 99. Look both ways before crossing street. (Direction details) |
