tl;dr - The server that runs buda.org and the code that's behind it is getting a massive upgrade, and we will be rolling this out sometime in the next couple of weeks. The look and feel of the site won't be changing much, but the site will be significantly faster and more stable. If you want to help us test, you can browse the new version at new.buda.org. Additional Information
This website has been around for quite a while, and as a result much of the software is a few revisions behind. This causes performance and security problems, and makes it difficult to make changes that would improve the situation. The main driver for this project was the infamous signup process. Having the site go down every time registration opens for the more popular leagues is really suboptimal, and we wanted to fix that. This is why there aren't going to be many visible changes to the site, almost all of the work was done on the backend infrastructure. We're also not promising that fall hat registration is going to be perfect, but it should be dramatically better. What we can promise is that it will continue to get better, and our goal is to streamline the registration process to the point where you don't even notice that anyone else is on the site while you are registering.
Beyond this initial launch we also hope to release new features on a more regular basis, and provide a clear place for people to submit ideas. We want to engage much more with people who use the site regularly, and do what we can to give all of us a much better experience. Stay tuned for details about where and how to submit your ideas - for now if you find anything that doesn't work as expected then please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
