The BUDA Webteam is currently making strides to update our system and our content. Volunteers are sought in the following areas:

Web developer: Prior web development experience is a big plus. Experience with MySQL and PHP would be helpful. The current BUDA website is PHP/MySQL based. If you don't have PHP experience, you could almost certainly contribute if you know C, Java, Perl or any server side scripting language. (ASP, Cold Fusion, JSP, .Net etc). We have a few projects at http://buda.org/hatleagues/todo.html, as well as a number of new tasks which will require advanced knowledge of Joomla integrating MySQL and PHP skills.

Graphic Designer/Artist: Some light graphics work is needed--logos, banners, etc. Familiarity with content management systems (Joomla) and image manipulation software a plus. This is an opportunity to help shape our new website look and feel, as well as contribute content!

The BUDA High School and Juniors Programs are actively seeking volunteers: You can make a big difference by helping out this spring and summer. Some stipends are available to defray travel and logistics costs. Volunteers are sought in the following areas:

High School Coaches--if you have a couple of hours after work a few times a week you can make a huge difference for a high school team--the BUDA high school program is exploding and teams need coaches at all levels. Contact hs07 at buda.org for more information.

Juniors Coaches--this is a chance to coach a national-caliber team of Open, Mixed, or Girls’ Juniors Players (Eastern Mass. 19 & Under)! The successful candidate will have experience at higher levels of competition as well as a coaching background, and will work closely w/ the current coaches and the HS program to continue New England Juniors’ successful representation at the UPA Juniors Nationals Tournament in August. Trailer is safely stored in Bedford but we need help w/ the following:
--scheduling: arranging keys handoff, making sure towing volunteers have directions, coordinating pickup times, etc.
--inventory: keeping track of what's in the trailer. This has already been done end of last year but should be continually updated and new supplies ordered as needed.
--administrative: investigating insurance options, keeping track of maintenance records, looking into other storage options if need be.

The trailer is a great convenience for both our small and big tournaments, but it doesn't work w/out volunteer help. Rather than raising hat and league fees next year to pay for help, please help us keep costs down and allow us to continue putting on great tournaments. Imagine what finals would be like w/ no lined fields, scoreboards, tents, or water jugs...

No one person has to be responsible for all the above tasks, but please consider stepping up and becoming the point person, the "Caretaker/Organizer of Trailer." Once that position is filled, we know that other volunteers have always helped out. Contact volunteer at buda.org for more information.
