Congratulations to Amherst Varsity (Open), Amherst Girls Varsity (Girls) and Holliston Varsity (Division 2) for winning their respective end-of-the-season tournaments, and thanks to all who participated.
It's not too soon to begin planning your spring '09 season. Hopefully you are recruiting new players, getting in some practices or even games, and getting psyched. There are a few administrative details you could be taking care of now:
1) Be sure your team information is up-to-date in the database -- check the "hs coaches" tab under the "player/captain pages" above to check it.
2) If you plan on playing in the spring, add yourself to the database -- again, the "hs coaches" tab.
3) Be sure you are on the "New England High School Ultimate" Yahoo group -- click here.
Keep playing, and have a good fall and winter. See you in the spring.

High School Ultimate in the Boston Globe
New high school teams got some great coverage in the Boston Globe metro Southwest section on November 18. Check it out here .
Bring Ultimate to your School
As I edited the master database list of teams, entering new registrations and deleting old ones, it seemed like I was removing just as many teams (if not more) than I was adding. Where do these teams go, why don't they survive more than a few years? Lack of institutional support and awareness of Ultimate among students are likely the biggest contributing factors. Getting more people playing at your school can really help ensure the long-term survival of your team.BUDA supports this through its Youth Program.
