BUDA administers several leagues throughout the year, mixing players of all levels to encourage growth of new players and good-spirited competition for everyone. Most of the leagues are co-ed; some leagues are very competitive.
Winter (Indoor) Hat League - Casual coed hat league, runs from late January through late March. Men's & Women's Learning Leagues - Casual instructional leagues, run from mid-May through June. BUDA High School Ultimate League - A league dedicated to high school open and girls' ultimate teams throughout New England. Open teams can play in either Division 1 or Division 2, depending on levels of skill and experience. Championships for Division 2 occur in late May, with Massachusetts Divions 1 and Girls' tourneys being held in early June. Spring Hat League - Casual mixed & coed hat league, runs from mid-April through May. There are there are two divisions, one that plays on weekend days, the other that plays on weekday nights. The tournament is usually the weekend after Memorial Day. Summer Club League (SCL) - 4/3 Coed and Open teams league, runs from early May through mid-August. The tournament is around the 3rd weekend in August. There are 3 divisions of 4/3 Coed teams. 4/3 Division 1 is very competitive, 4/3 Division 2 is competitive and 4/3 Division 3 is perfect for new players forming a new team. There are 4 divisions of 5/2 Coed teams. 5/2 Division 1 is very competitive, 5/2 Division 2 is competitive, Division 3 is less competitive and 5/2 Division 4 is perfect for new players forming a new team. There are 3 divisions of Open teams. Open Division 1 is very competitive, Open Division 2 is less competitive and Open Division 3 is perfect for new players forming a new team. Summer Club League includes teams from approximately a 50-mile radius outside of Boston. There are teams that compete from Cape Cod; Providence, RI; Berlin, MA; & Nashua, NH. Summer Hat League - Casual mixed & coed hat league, runs from early June through August. There are there are two divisions, one that plays in metro Boston (accessible via public transportation), the other that plays west of Boston (not accessible via public transportation, i.e. Waltham). Both play on weekday nights. The tournament is typically around the 2nd weekend in August. Note, SCL and Summer League attempt to run their tournaments on different weekends, but this is not always possible. Fall Club League (FCL) - Coed and Open team league, runs from early September through October. The tournament is around the 3rd weekend in October. There are 3 divisions of 4/3 Mixed teams. There are 2 divisions of Open teams. Fields in Boston, Cambridge, Somerville and Lexington are obtained by BUDA. Fall Hat League - Casual mixed & coed hat league, runs from early September through October. There are there are two divisions, one that plays on weekend days, the other that plays on weekday nights. Tournament is around the last weekend in October. |
