For our volunteer of the year for 2006 we have selected Tommy Proulx. A longtime member of the BUDA board, he also served on the UPA Board for several years until his recent retirement. Tommy leaves behind some big shoes to fill. While he was continuously active in club/corporate leagues (Toads, Ants), and in coaching and promoting high school ultimate (Andover, taking them to national competition), his biggest splash perhaps was made with the high caliber tournaments he attracted and organized. 2001 College Nationals, Easterns, the Boston Invite, the 2006 World Juniors Championship, and the UPA Club series fall events all benefited from his leadership and brought the national and international ultimate spotlight to the New England region. As a token of our appreciation a Phantom Gourmet giftcard is being sent along, to be used for a nice romantic dinner. Tommy, thank you for your years of dedication. |
