BUDA Rules - Fall League modifications

Updated Saturday, September 12 10:30pm ET

BUDA Seasonal Leagues use the Official Rules of the UPA with the following modifications:

* red denotes changes for 1998.

Gender: JP and Waltham League: There is no set number of players of either gender which must be fielded by a team.
Lexington League: Lexington is playing a hard 4/3 rule. A team must field 3 players of each gender on the field at all times. The 7th player can be of either gender.

PT #1: Each captain must ensure that their less experienced players get ample playing time and disc exposure.

PT #2: Matchups should be avoided which pit a player against a far superior player.

Pick Rule: Fall League is now using the UPA pick rule. If a pick or travel or other foul or violation is called before the disc is thrown, the throw does count and if it results in a turnover, then it is a turnover regardless of the violation. If the disc is already in the air when the foul or violation is called, then you must "play the disc."
For a more complete description of the rule please consult the Official Rules of the UPA.

Foot Blocks: It is not permissable to "kick block" when marking the thrower. You may hold your leg out ("leg block").

Pull: Dropping the "pull" is not a turnover.

Time Caps: When a game is capped, it is typically done by adding two to the higher score, and playing to that number (NOT win by two). If a point is in progress when the Cap is put on, two is added to the higher score after the point is finished.

Arbitration: Arguments (for instance, about the interpretation of a rule) will be resolved by the League Administrator (if present) or the team captains.
